Place 5: Frank Fernandez

“Kennedale is a bright and warm place to live,
and is a goldmine for businesses and residents alike.

We have great neighborhood design, great housing options,
and plenty of open space while still being close to businesses,
top schools, and a variety of entertainment. This is a great
town to put down roots and raise a family.”

A Kennedale resident since 1999, Frank began serving the city as a member of the Planning and Zoning Commission in 2007. While on P&Z, Frank participated in development of regulations related to oil and gas, signage, and elimination of blight.

As his interests broadened, Frank saw city council as the logical next step for his involvement in policy development. His goals as a council member include continued productive development and spreading a positive image of Kennedale throughout the DFW Metroplex. Frank is very involved in the community, and considers it an honor to be able to serve his fellow residents.

He has been married to his wife, Elena, since 1982, and they have two children, Monica (a graduate of Texas Tech) and Erick (a graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington). Frank attributes his public service success to the ongoing support of his family and his community.
