Medication at the Police Station from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

(no residency requirement for this program)
  • expired or unwanted medicine (OTC or Rx)
  • needles (syringes) or inhalers

This program is a partnership with the
Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and cities to allow residents to bring expired, unused, or unwanted over-the-counter (OTC) and prescription (Rx) drugs, veterinary medicines, samples, vitamins, and herbal supplements for safe disposal — no questions asked.

Residents are asked to remove all personal information from items. These items are not accepted: illegal drugs, oxygen tanks, needles and other sharps, inhalers, thermometers, nebulizers, and IV bags.

Presented by the Keep Kennedale Beautiful Commission (KKB), this event offers residents a chance to properly dispose of household chemicals, electronics, batteries, light bulbs, paint, and other items that should not be sent to the landfill because of the danger of chemicals leaching into our groundwater. There will also be a paper shredding company on-site for personal documents you'd like destroyed. This event is free for Kennedale residents (except for a small disposal fee for CRT monitors and tube televisions). You'll need to present a driver's license or water bill as proof of residency.

On the same day, the landfill on Dick Price will be accepting bulky items, including furniture, mattresses, brush, and tires. There is a small fee for tires. You'll need to present a driver's license and water bill as proof of residency.

Kennedale PD will be accepting expired or unneeded medications through the DEA's National Drug Takeback Program. Unfortunately, we cannot accept inhalers or needles at the event. There is no residency requirement for this program.

Finally, the First United Methodist Church Mission Store will be accepting donations of gently-used clothing and shoes.

Donate Clothing at the First United Methodist Church Mission Store (229 W 4th St.) from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.

  • gently used clothing & shoes (kids’ and adults’ sizes) (proof of residency not required)
  • torn or soiled clothing
  • worn out shoes

Bulky Trash and Brush at the Landfill (4144 Dick Price Road in Fort Worth) from 8:00 a.m. to noon

  • bulky trash, brush, and construction debris
  • furniture and mattresses
  • tires (small disposal fee; see below)
  • household waste
You must show proof of Kennedale residency (water bill and driver's license), and no commercial waste is permitted. Questions? Email us! Thank you for helping us Keep Kennedale Beautiful!
